Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW)
The Word of God
The celebration of the Mass is at the heart of our Catholic faith. To help our youngest parishioners fully participate, Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW) shares the Gospel with children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade using language they can easily understand.
The primary purpose of CLW is to provide a focused environment where children can become active listeners and responders to God’s word. Following the readings, the group participates in a guided discussion on how God's Word relates directly to their daily lives.
- Timing: Children are called forth after the Opening Prayer and return to their families after the Homily.
- Registration: No reservation or registration is necessary. All children in K–2nd grade are welcome to join!
- Ministers: If you are interested in volunteering to help with this ministry, please contact the Dir. of Religious Education at 858.487.1392

We Need Your Help
We have teams of two leaders at the 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. masses from September (after Labor Day) through June. We are still in need of help during the 10:45 masses. Each team leads a liturgy once a month, September through June. Participate with friends and create your own team or join an experienced team. Each Weekly Resource includes the scripture background, preparation, and liturgy guide for the Prayer Leaders to facilitate the lesson.
Teens who have been Confirmed are welcome to join our teaching teams. Teens in need of service hours are also welcome to volunteer.
